Do I need planning permission for solar panels?

The Government has recently changed the permitted development rights rules which will mean that some home owners will find the installation of solar panels easier. Homes that have flat roofs where panels could be located will be able to install panels without planning permission. This will reduce costs for the homeowner and the amount of time it takes for people to install the panels. The permitted development rights are still subject to conditions such as whether the property is Grade 2 listed or within a conservation area.

Generally the planning process is supposed to take 8 weeks for an application to receive a decision, but we are finding that several boroughs in the South East are taking longer.  Please get in touch and see how we can help.
