Energy‑Efficient SIPS House Design with Air Source Heat Pump and Renewable Systems

This contemporary home was designed specifically for a client who works from home, with a strong focus on sustainability, energy efficiency and modern family living. The property is constructed using SIPS (Structural Insulated Panel System), enabling the contractor to erect the structure and make it watertight within just two weeks. This construction method delivers exceptional insulation, reduced running costs and a significantly faster build time.

To further enhance sustainability, the design incorporates renewable energy systems, including an air source heat pump, providing an environmentally responsible and low‑carbon heating solution.

At the heart of the home is a spacious open‑plan, double‑height living area, combining the kitchen, dining, living and workspace into one flexible, light‑filled environment. Each children’s bedroom features a raised sleeping platform to maximise usable floor space and make full use of the generous ceiling height.

Designed on a single level, the layout allows all main living spaces to open directly onto the garden, creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living.
