Grade II Listed cottage
Heritage Cottage Renovation and Extension in East Sussex
This Grade II listed cottage renovation began with the owners’ vision for a spacious family kitchen and dining room that would connect seamlessly to the expansive terrace and cottage garden.

To achieve this, Karenna Wilford Architects designed a sympathetic extension featuring large sliding doors, creating a light‑filled social space ideal for modern family living and entertaining. At its heart sits a beautifully handcrafted Middleton Bespoke kitchen, adding exceptional craftsmanship, charm and elegance.

The entire property underwent a comprehensive refurbishment. Bathrooms were modernised, and the original kitchen was transformed into a highly practical boot room and utility space. The outdated conservatory was replaced with a stylish orangery, improving both the aesthetic and year‑round usability of the home.

Every room has been thoughtfully furnished to create a cohesive, characterful interior that complements the cottage’s historic features. The clients are delighted with the transformation, and Karenna Wilford Architects, East Sussex, is proud to have delivered a sensitive and beautifully executed upgrade to this listed property.
