Historic England have issued a statement advising what is deemed acceptable for
energy installations for historic and listed buildings. They will allow air source heat pumps if the are discretely located and do not affect the appearance of the building. Solar and PV panels will be allowed if they are not visible and located in valley or on flat roofs. Insulation in the attic will be allowed as long as it is not sprayed. Some internal floor and wall insulation will be possible depending on the existing fabric. It is unlikely that external wall insulation will be possible unless it is a new build extension.
Karenna Wilford Architects are experienced in listed buildings and could advise on what installations might be suitable for your property.
