East Sussex Home Renovation with Open‑Plan Kitchen and Garden‑Facing Bi‑Fold Doors

This East Sussex project focused on transforming a dated property into a light‑filled, modern home with a stronger connection to the garden. The owner wanted to improve natural daylight, enhance the flow of the internal layout and create inviting spaces for reading, socialising and enjoying the surrounding views.

To achieve this, we replaced the existing windows and doors with sleek anthracite‑grey frames, instantly modernising the exterior and improving energy performance. A new weather canopy was added to the front entrance, providing both practical shelter and a more welcoming architectural presence.

Inside, the previously separated kitchen and dining spaces were combined into an open‑plan layout, eliminating the sense of isolation when entertaining. New bi‑fold doors open directly onto the garden, effectively creating an additional outdoor “room” and strengthening the indoor–outdoor connection.

The bathroom and en‑suite were fully modernised, incorporating contemporary fixtures and improved lighting. The entire property was redecorated throughout, resulting in a cohesive, refreshed interior that feels brighter, more spacious and far more functional for everyday living.

This thoughtful refurbishment has transformed the home into a comfortable, modern and sociable space that maximises natural light and celebrates its garden setting.
