CONVERSION IN EAST SUSSEX

The client was lucky to find a barn that had not been listed and was deemed to have enough structure intact to be able to be converted and extended into a 5 bedroom house. The extraordinary thing about this project is that we got planning permission to move the barn 10 metres further away from the road.

The design for the extensions to the original barn takes the traditional “U” shape creating a courtyard in front of the barn. These extensions contain the bedrooms and bathrooms with the living and dining space opening up to the barn structure in the middle. The barn has large windows and doors to allow the clients to enjoy the amazing views and have privacy from the road.
